Auxilio!

El sexto álbum del cuarteto en tierras mexicanas era el cuarto LP de The Beatles y la banda sonora de su segunda película iba a presenciar un cambio en su manera de trabajar, mientras que the Beatles de la primera época eran capaces de producir un LP completo en una sesión de 10 horas en el estudio, Help! fue el comienzo de una nueva manera de grabar ahora ensayaban mientras las máquinas de grabación estaban en marcha. Escuchando los resultados les permitía mejorar, descartar o trabajar sobre lo grabado. Los Beatles seguían utilizando nuevos instrumentos para sus canciones y además se tomaron un buen descanso de las giras.

Ahora hablemos un poco de la película como había pasado en A Hard Day's Night los Beatles tuvieron que componer todos los temas sin relación alguna con la película, las canciones se dejaban caer en escenas de actuación musical espontánea de los Beatles.

La canción que daba el título a la película y a álbum, fue un poco más forzada, la película se desarrolló alrededor de la idea de que Ringo fuera el protagonista, después de su éxito en A Hard Day's Night. Aunque en un primer momento se tenía que llamar Eight Arms To Hold You, se decidió que Help! era el título ideal para la película, pero existía un pequeño problema ya existía una canción con ese título afortunadamente a que las leyes sobre el Copyright eran bastante flexibles, los Beatles se salieron con la suya llamando a la canción y a la película Help!.

El Material del Lp es diferente al ingles ya que se podria decir que este es un soundtrack de la película la lista de las canciones son:

John siempre consideró Help! como una de sus canciones favoritas en los Beatles, básicamente porque era una de las primeras en expresar sus preocupaciones y su ansiedad.

Realmente la letra expresaba sus sentimientos, aunque el título le había sido fijado por la película. La cooperación de Paul en la composición fue en la casa de John en Kenwood. Según Steve Turner, la canción era en sus inicios un tema lento, al estilo de Dylan, pero se convirtió en una melodía más Beatles por razones comerciales.

La versión de este álbum a diferencia del Ingles es la entrada tipo James Bond, que se perdió durante años en la discografía oficial ya que entrando el CD se unifico a la UK perdiendo variantes de diversas canciones de la banda, este tema volvió hacer su aparición en discografía oficial en CD en la remasterización en el BOX EMI Vol. 2.

La voz doblada de Paul completa esta excelente canción con un gran trabajo vocal de John y George. Es apenas el segundo tema del Lp y ya aparece por primera vez en una canción un piano eléctrico.

El tema aparece en la película con los Beatles tocando mientras están rodeados por tanques en Salisbury Plain.

3. From Me To You Fantasy (Instrumental)

En la película anterior ya habían tenido éxito en hacer algunos de sus temas en versiones instrumentales como fue el caso de This Boy, este Lp siendo un soundtrack de filme se incluyen estas canciones que no vienen en la versión del álbum ingles.

Cuando John escribió esta canción estaba grandemente influenciado por Bob Dylan es evidente que su concepción acústica y la letra ajustan a la perfección en el molde. También fue la primera canción en la que un músico de fuera tocaba para los Beatles (y cuyo nombre conocemos gracias a Lewisohn) lo que en un principio parece un solo de flauta, se reconoce de manera inmediata que en realidad son dos (grabadas una sobre la otra) al final de la canción.

La canción es cantada por John en la película a la actriz Eleanor Brown.

George Harrison empezaba a llevarse su parte del pastel. En Help! ya aparecían dos de sus canciones. I need You es facilmente reconocible por el uso de un pedal Wah-Wah durante toda la canción. Esta guitarra se añadió el día después de grabarse la canción y aparece aquí por vez primera en un disco de los Beatles.

La canción fue compuesta por George Harrison a su novia Patty Boyd. Aparecía en la película en la misma secuencia que The Night Before.

Una canción de lo más interesante mostrando el gran músico que es Paul McCartney. Another Girl fue compuesta por Paul, y aparte de su papel habitual con el bajo, Paul también tocó la guitarra solista en el tema. Además el ritmo sincopado de la batería que Ringo borda, se dice que fue sugerido por Paul.

John describió una vez Ticket To Ride como una de las primeras canciones de Heavy Metal uunque esté lejos de lo que hoy se conoce como Heavy Metal, lo cierto es que el punteo constante de la guitarra de Paul y la batería especialmente marcada de Ringo hacen de ella un número de buen Rock.

Fue escrito por John ya en aquellos años estaban en el consumo de las drogas (Mariguana) por lo que se llega a creer que esta inspirada en un "porro" para tener un viaje mañanero.

Una estupenda canción en la que Ringo demuestra con creces su dominio de los bongos. La canción aparece en la película mientras los Beatles graban en "Abbey Road" (en realidad estaban siendo grabados en los estudios Twickenhan, donde se grabaron la mayoría de las escenas de interiores a lo largo de su carrera como actores) La canción se para cuando Ringo está a punto de ser secuestrado a través de un agujero que cortan alrededor de su batería

Pese a que este álbum nacional tiene el mismo nombre del ingles, no se puede considerar como tal ya que inclusive este tiene la caracteristica de ser un Soundtrack como su portada lo dice "Versión Original de la Película", dejando a un lado varios temas aun considerado hoy en día como clásicos temas de The Beatles como Yesterday, It's Only Love, Act Naturally, Yo Like Me Too Much, Tell Me What You See, I've Just Seen a Face y Dizzy Miss Lizzy.
